Rose Bowl: Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Oregon Ducks
The Rose Bowl aka The Granddaddy of Them All, is a college football game usually played every 1st of January. This year’s game will kick-off at 1:30 p.m. PST following the Tournament of Roses Parade.
The 96th Rose Bowl is presented by Citi and will feature Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Oregon Ducks. These two teams both ended the regular season playing their best, but the Ducks know Ohio State’s defensive line is trouble, and they will try to run away from Cameron Heyward, Thaddeus Gibson and Co.
Oregon is in the Rose Bowl for the first time since 1995. The Buckeyes, on the other hand, are on their fifth straight Bowl Championship Series appearance, but this is their first trip to Pasadena since the 1996 season, when they defeated Arizona State.
The Rose Bowl Game started off in 1902 and since then, it has showcased 18 Heisman Trophy Winners and produce 28 national champions. The game also featured 197 consensus All-Americans and inducted 98 college football legends into the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame.
UPDATE: After a series of disappointing bowl game defeats in recent years, the Buckeyes returned to their winning ways with their first Rose Bowl win since the 1996 season. Quarterback Terrelle Pryor passed for two touchdowns and Devin Barclay kicked three field goals as Ohio State beat the Ducks 26-17.
