‘Tonight Show’ sidekick Ed McMahon dies at 86
Ed McMahon, the longtime sidekick of Johnny Carson on NBC’s The Tonight Show died on Tuesday in Los Angeles. He was 86.
Publicist Howard Bragman said McMahon passed away at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center surrounded by his family. Bragman didn’t give a specific cause of death but did cite a “multitude of health problems the last few months.”
The veteran TV entertainer was famed for his catchphrase ‘Heeeeeere’s Johnny! Outside of The Tonight Show, McMahon was best known as the host of the talent competition Star Search. He also hosted TV Bloopers and Practical Jokes.
