Singer Wyclef Jean Considers Running for President

It’s the presidency this time for singer Wyclef Jean.

In a report on CNN’s Sara Holbrooke’s blog, Jean was said to be considering to run for President of Haiti.

“I can’t sing forever,” the Haitian-American musician told CNN. Meanwhile, Canadian publication Le Driot suggested that Jean could be “in a good position to battle rampant corruption of his Carribean homeland since he’s already wealthy.”

There were previous criticisms, though, of his charity Yele Haiti Foundation. It was alleged to be a poorly-run organization with “lax financial accountability.” There were even claims that the foundation made the singer richer.

Jean defended himself by saying: “Have we made mistakes before? Yes. Did I ever use Yele money for personal benefit? Absolutely not,” he said.
