Strong earthquake hits Tokyo, Japan


A 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck Tokyo, Japan on Sunday night local time.

The strong earthquake hit 200 miles (320 kilometers) south-west of Tokyo at 7:55 PM and the epicenter was 188 miles (303 kilometers) deep, the United States Geological Survey said.

The Japan Meteorological Agency estimated the earthquake’s magnitude at 6.9, and at a depth of 340 kilometres (213 miles) under the Pacific ocean.

There were no immediate reports of damage and there’s no tsunami warning issued.
