Suicide blast kills 75 at volleyball game in Pakistan
At least 75 people have been killed and up to 60 others wounded by a suicide bomb attack at a volleyball match in northwest Pakistan.
There were conflicting accounts of how the attack happened, but The Times, citing Pakistani officials, reported that the bomber drove a vehicle packed with explosives onto the sports field as people gathered to watch the game.
Volleyball is a popular sport in the area, and more than 200 people were watching when the bomb went off. Women and children were pulled from the rubble of a nearby house that collapsed in the blast.
The incident occurred in Lakki Marwat, which lies close to North and South Waziristan, two tribal regions where Pakistani Taliban fighters are active.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
