The remaining American Idol finalists delivered a strong set of performances for Tuesday’s Rat Pack theme night, and Adam Lambert, the most popular contender this season, picked “Feeling Good” as his song choice.
As usual Adam Lambert did not disappoint the judges of American Idol. And his soulful rendition of If I Can’t Have You captivated the fans of the popular Fox signing competition.
Tonight’s theme on “American Idol” is “Songs of the Cinema” and director Quentin Tarantino is this week’s mentor. Adam Lambert sang Steppenwolf’s “Born To Be Wild,” soundtrack from the 1969 film “Easy Rider” starring Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson.
Dressed like a drag queen from another planet, the 23-year-old singer-songwriter played the piano filled with pink bubbles before going nuts on stage. Her performance was dynamic… but unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy her spectacle…not my kind of music.
Unlike last week, when Adam soured the judges during “Country Week” with a strange Egyptian-inspired version of “Ring of Fire,” the 26-year-old theater actor looked like he’s stepped out of a 50’s movie poster to sing this song with tenderness and originality.
Lil Rounds has made a big impression on the “Idol” judges. The single mother of three from Memphis closed the show with a powerful take on Mary J. Blige’s “Be Without You.”
