Teen Model Sues Urban Outfitters Over “Salacious” Pic

Young model Hailey Clauson is suing American retailer Urban Outfitters to the tune of $28 million for allegedly using without permission a risqué photograph of the then 15-year-old teenager.

In her affidavit, 16-year-old Clauson—who is the current face of brands Gucci, Dsquared2, and Jill Stuart—said that Urban Outfitters used the contested photograph for a T-shirt that the company is selling. Also named as respondents in the suit were boutiques Blood is the New Black and Brandy & Melville, as well as photographer Jason Lee Parry, the New York Post reported. It was Parry who snapped Clauson as the model posed with legs spread wide while wearing very short leather shorts.

Clauson accused Parry of focusing on her crotch area, adding that the photograph has made her “the object of prurient interests and provides wallpaper for the likes of pedophiles.” The young model also said that Parry, who is known for taking sexy shots of models, had agreed not to use the photograph. The “blatantly salacious” picture eventually ended up in an issue of German magazine Qvest before finally landing in the Urban Outfitters T-shirt.
