Lyoto Machida retained his UFC light heavyweight title after winning via a unanimous decision over Mauricio “Shogun” Rua Saturday night at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles.

With this win, Machida improved his stats to 16 wins with 0 losses and became the first UFC light heavyweight champion since Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson to successfully defend the crown.
