VIDEO: Anderson Cooper attacked in Egypt
Supporters of Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak apparently weren’t thrilled about Anderson Cooper‘s visit to the Arab country. On Wednesday, the 43-year-old CNN anchor and his crew were attacked by an angry mob of pro-government supporters as they tried to report the protests in Cairo’s Tahrir Square.
The video below is shaky, but according to CNN producer Steve Brusk, Cooper was punched in the head 10 times and their equipment was also destroyed by the mob. Luckily, Cooper escaped with just scratches, and the journalist responded to the tweets from concerned people on his Twitter page, assuring them that he is fine.
“Thanks for tweets of concern..I’m sore and head hurts but fine. Neil and mary anne are bruised but ok too. Thanks”
