Watch the 2010 Australian Open Live Online (Live Stream + Schedule)
2010 Australian Open Live Stream: This is the 98th edition of the Australian Open. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal seem to have a monopoly on Grand Slams, having won 17 of the last 19 tournaments between the two. But this time, we hope someone new like Fernando Verdasco or Andy Murray will break the cartel and claim their first major.
Federer, who is aiming for his sixteenth Grand Slam trophy, can look forward to potential clashes against the likes of Lleyton Hewitt, Marcos Baghdatis and Verdasco ahead of a likely quarter-final clash against Nikolay Davydenko.
In the women’s category, World No.1 Serena Williams may be controlling the attention, but Kim Clijsters is commanding equal respect. The Belgian ace took two years off to tie the knot and have a child, and then warmed the hearts people everywhere when she grabbed the US Open last year in only her third tournament back.
However, Serena has insisted that she will defend her title even though she is not completely fit. The American was clearly hindered by a painful left knee as she lost to Russia’s Elena Dementieva in the championship of the Sydney International last week.
The Australian Open is the first of the four Grand Slam tennis competitions held each year. Since 1988, the tournament has been contested on hard courts at Melbourne Park.
