Will Farrell Stops Leaonardo DiCaprio at Box Office
What Angelina Jolie and Steve Carell cannot do, Will Ferrell did.
Dream themed Inception, which is led by Leonardo DiCaprio, finally fell to second spot after studio estimates show that the film The Other Guys took the number one spot, the place where Inception has stayed for the last three weekends.
The Other Guys estimates stand at 35.6 million dollars while Inception is at 18.6 million dollars. Coming in at third place is Step-Up 3D while Jolie’s Salt is at fourth place. The Carell movie Dinner for Schmucks rounds up the top five.
In an interview with UsMagazine.com, Ferrell said that he is not used to being on the top much more topple stars like DiCaprio, “I feel like I’m constantly the other guy. I’m always bumped off flights. I never get reservations to fancy restaurants.”
DiCaprio’s film already took in 227 million dollars in domestic sales and 477 million dollars in worldwide sales. It is the fourth film this year to stay at the top spot for three weeks after Avatar, Alice in Wonderland and Shrek Forever After, though among these films, only Inception has not been released in 3D format.
The Other Guys also star Mark Wahlberg and Eva Mendes.
