World Cup 2010 Qualifying: Brazil vs. Venezuela
Brazil’s 19-match unbeaten streak came to an end Sunday and because of this, Dunga, the Brazil coach, is putting his best players back in the squad (Gilberto Silva, Kaká and Luis Fabiano) hoping for a positive end to the campaign after an away defeat to Bolivia.
With Paraguay playing Colombia in Asuncion, the Selecao must beat Venezuela to be assured of topping the group, although their spot in the World Cup Finals has already been secured.
Technically, La Vinotinto can still qualify. But for this to happen, the Argentines have to beat Uruguay, the Chileans have to beat Ecuador and finally they have to beat Brazil by a wide margin.
The match kicks-off at 6:00 p.m. ET.
UPDATE: Brazil and Venezuela end 0-0 in Campo Grande. The Vinotinto are officially out of the running for football’s grandest showcase next year.
