Wrestler Umaga Dies of Heart Attack
Wrestler Umaga has been declared dead in a Houston hospital 6:00 PM (EST) Friday, December 4, after suffering a second heart attack. He was 36.
His wife found him not breathing, with blood coming out of his nose a few hours after he had fallen asleep the night before while watching television. He was rushed to the hospital and was diagnosed to have suffered a heart attack.
The Samoa-American pro wrestler, with real name Eddie Fatu, had just came from a match with Hulk Hogan in Australia. He was a two-time Intercontinental Champion of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He was also a member of the Anoa’i wrestling family–cousin of wrestler/actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Umaga was known for the nicknames “The Samoan Bulldozer” and “The Samoan Savage”.
He was best remembered for a match against Bobby Lashley in where WWE owner Vince McMahon put his hair on the line against the hair of Donald Trump.
