It is scheduled to take place in Qatar from 21 November to 18 December 2022.

Qatar will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which is scheduled to take place from 21 November to 18 December 2022. It will be the first time that the event has been held in the Arab world, and only the third time it has been hosted by a Middle Eastern nation. The bidding process for hosting this tournament took place in 2009 and 2010. In December 2010, Qatar officially won their bid to host what was termed as “the first World Cup of its kind”.

The Tournament Organization Committee (TOC) was formed in 2014, after which it began setting up an organization structure for hosting this tournament.

Doha’s newly constructed Khalifa International Stadium is set to host all matches during both group stages and semi-finals of this event; Al Rayyan Stadium will also be used for quarter-finals; while Al Wakrah Stadium (Al Thumama Stadium) will host all matches during group stage 3 & 4 play-offs as well as fourth place playoff game; Fifth place playoff game will be played at Al Khor Stadium (Al Shahaniya Sports Complex). Meanwhile Lusail Stadium would be used exclusively as one venue where semi final matches are scheduled to take place

This will be the first World Cup ever to be held in the Arab world and the first in a Muslim-majority country. This will be the second World Cup held entirely in Asia after the 2002 tournament in South Korea and Japan.

It was also announced on 23 March 2015 that Russia would host its first Winter Olympics, in Sochi, from 7 to 23 February 2014. It will mark as Russia’s most expensive games yet with an estimated budget of $50 billion that includes infrastructure improvements such as railways and bridges being built specifically for these games along with new stadiums being constructed for this event alone!

It will take place in Qatar

Qatar is the smallest country to host a World Cup. It has a population of 2.6 million people and its GDP per capita is $130,000 (a whopping figure compared with the rest of the world).

The country has come under fire for its poor treatment of migrant workers before and during construction projects related to hosting the event, but FIFA has noted that Qatar has made improvements in this regard since they were awarded rights as hosts in 2010.

FIFA World Cup 2022 Schedule

The tournament will now take place from 21 November to 18 December 2022, with the final being played on 18 December.

The 2022 World Cup will be held in November and December to avoid the intense Qatari summer heat. As a result, the World Cup will be unusually staged in the middle of the seasons of domestic football leagues which start in late July or August, including all of the major European leagues, which have been obliged to incorporate extended breaks into their domestic schedules to accommodate the World Cup. Major European competitions have scheduled their respective competitions group matches to be played before the World Cup, in order to avoid playing group matches the following year.

The tournament was originally scheduled to take place in January and February 2022.[1][2] However, it was shifted by FIFA to avoid clashing with the 2022 Winter Olympics. The Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani announced that they would move their hosting rights for 2022, after consulting with all their neighbours.

Where will the matches be played?

For the first time, the tournament was hosted by more than one country. Matches were played in twelve venues located in four cities: Doha, Al Rayyan, Al Khor and Al Wakrah.
